The Medical Register published under the direction of the General Council of Medical Education and Registration of the United Kingdom in pursuance of the Medical Acts 1858 and 1886 comprising the names and addresses of Medical Practitioners registered Under the Medical Acts 1858 and 1886, in the Colonial List and in the Foreign List.

 

The records contain the date of registration, surname, residential address, and qualifications which includes dates followed by the Medical Schools from which the Members qualified.

 

The Medical Register has several parts including, the Medical Acts, Presidents, Treasurers, Members, Registrars, of the General Medical Council, Summary of the Accounts, Summary of the Number of persons in the Directory in this instance over 38,000, the Medical Register and Colonial and Foreign List and a Register for Foreign and Colonial Practitioners with recognised diplomas and foreign degrees.
