The record includes the forename of the child and the surname and forename of the parents as well as the Date of Birth, Baptism, Marriage and Death of individuals.
For Marriages the records includes the surnames and forename of the bride and groom the name and title of the person who they were married by as well as the Date of Marriage. In some instances the records provide the Town or County of origin of the parties or nationality.
It was intended and is believed to contain every entry of birth, death, and marriage recorded as happening in the town of Boston in the first seventy years of its existence, and every entry of baptism on the records of the First Church for the same period.
A typical Birth Record for 1636 reads as follows;
Hannah of Edmund and Martha Jackson born 1st day 1st Month, 1636
