Search All Datasets with NEW general search feature
Familyrelatives has recently introduced a NEW Search feature that allows you to search ALL the USA records at once. This feature is also available with the Australia and Canada datasets.
The records have been scanned in order to give high quality images of the original. These have been made word searchable using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) which is the recognition of printed or written text characters by a computer.
As several typefaces, characters and different fonts were used in producing the Parish registers and Trade Directories, OCR will not always recognise letters and words and finding a name may not be as straightforward as using a simple Search as used in other databases where all the names are indexed and only what you enter is found as an exact match.
Search Features & Benefits for BMD Indexes
New Search feature - Age at Death GRO Deaths includes an "about Birth date"
Familyrelatives.com have introduced a new search aid when searching the GRO (General Register Office) Deaths Indexes from 1866 - 1920 and now includes an "about Birth date" for easier searching and matching.
Many of you asked for enhanced search features at the Family History Show 2008 and we are already working on these. One of them is the "About Birth date" for the GRO death results from 1866 - 1920. The records already provide the Age at Death however it is no longer necessary to try and calculate the approximate Birth date, we have done this for you.
