Qywyntyna's Roots

Brief Description:
My British, Norwegian, German, and United States roots.  Mostly maternal, as California laws prevent me from researching my adopted father's biological heritage.  The majority of my British roots derive from a single woman - my maternal great grandmother, Nellie F. Butterfield.
Family Description:
These are the roots of Nellie F. Butterfield, her German husband, Joseph James Nussberger, and their Norwegian American daughter-in-law, Rosella Fjeld and allied families.  The family names I am researching are far too numerous to list here.  Places in England include Somerset, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Wiltshire, and London.  I can trace my U.S. ancestry back to colonial times and places in these times include Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.  Later, the family trail picks up in New York state and leads to Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and California.  Historical events include the Salem Witch Trials, the Black Hawk War, the Revolutionary War, the U.S. Civil War, the War of 1812, the Surrender of the Cedars, WWI, WWII, and the Children's Blizzard.
